Interview Notes
Linda shares the story behind THE DISHARMONY OF SILENCE, her debut novel which released in 2020. We chat about the inspiration behind a book that moves back and forth between the 1920s and today, how inspiration for the story came to Linda during a conversation on the beach in Hilton Head Island, and why it didn’t start with the dual timeline that it now has!
We discuss how Linda is wearing a cameo that mirrors the one in a painting which sets in motion the events of the novel – a tale of family secrets, discovering the past, and deciding what to do with the information you find; especially if it may hurt others you love.
We chat about how much of the novel is inspired from real life and the joy of getting such a great review from @kristinharmel who Linda calls “just such a phenomenal writer”. Kristin described this novel as “an intriguing tale of long-held family secrets, an emotional search for identity, and a painting that may just be the key to untangling the complicated past” and said the “bittersweet mystery kept me reading rapidly until the last page!”
Linda also shares books she’s recently enjoyed especially 2020 debuts including YOU AND ME AND US by @thishammer, which made her cry and also NO BAD DEED by @iamheatherchavez , an “edge of the seat, thriller, scary and really wonderful”.
